Great sandals! I now have two of Madrid sandals. I love them. By far the most comfortable of all Birks. Would you would think of a thick strap across the foot lead to the fall while walking sandals, but this has never been the case for me. I wear them when I travel now, on weekends in spring / summer / fall, and now around my apartment. I find this much more comfortable than the Giza Flor sandals that I, as well. Not because of the toe strap, but because they fit better overall. (My mother and friend said the same.) Now they come in colors and patent applications.
